A Wisconsin town is taking a unique approach to the problem of bullying among children and teens by allowing police officers to ticket the alleged bully's parents for a municipal code violation, which could come with a fine of over $100.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports the new tactic is part of a broader ordinance aimed at curbing bullying that was passed by the city council in Monona on May 20.

Summer's here and with the sun bearing down on you, a nice cold glass of tea or lemondae sure sounds, unless you visited a fast food restaurant for that beverage!

Thanks to a school project by a 12 year old, we now know what's in THAT cold glass of refreshment:  E. coli bacteria. YUCK!!

I think this takes the adage:  if the shoes fits… wear it. 

But 10 year old Kaylee got a taste of her own medicine when her parents made her wear some unusual clothing.

Kaylee is in 4th grade at Viewmont  Elementary in Utah and Kaylee used to think she was a “fashionesta” because she loved to let her school mates know exactly how well or unwell they dressed!

For the past few weeks, Kaylee has been teasing classmates about their clothes!  She told some of them you look trashy,  you dress like a slob, or your clothes look sleaszy!

Recent Amber Alerts sent to cell phones have residents wondering about the new program and how they became automatically enrolled.

In the last few months, some of you are receiving AMBER Alerts on their cell phones as “emergency alerts”.

 

Beginning January 1, 2013, the Wireless Emergency Alert System was launched nationally by the Department of Justice and FEMA.

Just an incredible story from Danbury Texas-

That was where the tornados struck last Thursday. It was a powerful storm system  that spawned as many as 10  tornadoes tore through two North Texas neighborhoods, killing at least six adults. 

As of daybreak, seven people were missing in the town of Granbury, which is just outside Fort Worth, and at least one tornado was listed as an EF-4, which means winds can reach 200 mph.

At 4:54 pm ET on Wednesday, someone downloaded the 50 billionth app from Apple's online App Store.

Apple will give the lucky downloader a $10,000 iTunes gift card. The next 50 people to download an app after that will each receive a $500 gift card.

There was no immediate word from Apple on who won. Apple had a live countdown ticker on its iTunes Web page.
