On Thursday, March 6, they unite their expertise and experience to share five proven ways students can thrive in school and life. The free one-hour lunch-n-learn begins at noon at SailAway's Kingston campus, 106 Armour Road. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. A healthy box lunch will be served.

“SailAway isn’t like any other academy or learning center in the country, and our annual Open House is a once-a-year chance for families to explore a whole new world of educational possibilities,” says Brenda Murphy, founder and president of SailAway Learning & Academy (SALA). This year’s Open House is Thursday, March 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at main campus, 106 Armour Road in Kingston.

The Knoxville Writers' Guild presents "Of Hills and Rivers: Cherokee Women Writers" for its Thursday, March 6 meeting.
The event, which will be open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. at the Laurel Theater, at the corner of Laurel Avenue and 16th Street in Fort Sanders. A $2 donation is requested at the door. The building is handicapped accessible. Additional parking is available at Redeemer Church of Knoxville, 1642 Highland Ave.
Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle, Allison Adelle Hedge Coke and Kimberly L. Becker will all be reading from works inspired by their heritage.

The Farragut Folklife Museum invites the community to a special presentation on “Tennessee Women of Vision and Courage,” a compilation of stories about women who have contributed significantly to the rich heritage of Tennessee during its more than 200 years as a state. The evening will begin with book signings at 6 p.m. followed by the 6:30 p.m. presentation on Friday, March 14, 2014, in the Farragut Town Hall Board Room.
