Second Helping of Kindness
This happened in Ohio. It was about 11pm Saturday night and Chris Manacci was driving along Washington Street when he saw a van pulling a fishing boat that had a flat tire and was creeping along on the side of the road. So, Chris stopped to help. He had a can of Fix-a-Flat, he knew that AT LEAST would fix the tire enough for this guy and his 15 year old son make it to the gas station.
So there they were on the side of the road where Chris pulled up in the grass beside them with his hazard lights on. AND THEY NEVER SAW IT COMING....
“A truck that we didn’t actually even see coming was moving at a very high rate of speed, and struck my car, and the truck became airborne and landed about three feet beyond where he was standing, him and his son,” Manacci said.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the driver of the truck was drunk, and he was taken to the hospital.
No one else was hurt. AND very lucky for the driver of the truck because Chris is a nurse practitioner.
That's when the driver of the van with the flat said, "Wow, how cool, you nurse practitioners are real life savers." Apparently, 8 years ago, he was fishing and had gotten a large fish hook stuck in his hand. Low and behold, on the lake, was a nurse practitioner who was kayaking and he came on over and help him get that HOOK out of his hand...
And that's when the two of them figured it out; That's when it dawned on him....
It turns out, Chris was that Kayaker! He had rescued the same man 8 years ago! Chris says he sees it as a blessing.
