Old Glory Redone
New merchandise for sale by the Obama campaign features a redesigned American flag. The campaign is selling several prints that show an altered image of the stars and stripes. The stars are replaced with the Obama campaign logo and the red stripes look like broad brush strokes.
So why did the Obama campaign feel the need to redesign the American flag? The campaign Tweeted this explanation:
"A poster to say there are no red states or blue states, only the United States," the Obama administration tweeted Wednesday night, with a link to a photo of the poster.
But critics are calling the art work creepy and un-American. Social networking sites are being flooded with negative responses calling the changes in the flag offensive and shameful.
We want to know what you think? Is the redesigned flag clever marketing or just plain bad taste?

So far, the administration hasn't responded to the poster's criticism or explained the thinking behind the design.
Reagan/Bush 84 did it too... on their bumper stickers.
