Why I support Diaper Love

I found out about Diaper Love earlier this year from my sister Heather.  The thought that there are children out there that have to stay in soiled diapers because their parents cannot afford anymore is horrifying to me.  I recently joined their Board to do what I can to help.  That is how passionately I believe in this service.
As a parent to a child in diapers, I know how hard it can be.  Diapers are expensive.  And they are not covered by WIC or Food Stamps.  Did you know that?  One of the main things Diaper Love wants to work on is getting Diapers covered by WIC and Food Stamps.
Megan and Myron Mullins are two parents in Knoxville who saw a need.  They have been called and they have stepped up to fulfill those needs and they need our help.  They have three children of their own as well.
You never know what someone's circumstances are.  Megan and Myron say they have encountered people that have had to push their car into the parking lot to get the diapers.  Others have pulled up in Cadillac's.  Diaper Love isn't judging, they are simply, helping.  When they can hand a desperate parent or grandparent a package of diapers, they have seen these people weep with relief.  Relief that they can change that poor child's diaper.
Since I got involved with Diaper Love, I have often been asked "Why don't these people just use cloth diapers?".  Well, the cloth diapers of old can be a great solution, but if the parent/s doesn't have a washer and drier, that is difficult and laundromats do not allow cloth diapers in their appliances. So what should they do about that?  Plus, chances are good, if they don't have any money and are barely putting food on the table, they don't have money to purchase cloth diapers anway.
Diaper Love has a good screening system that they use.  They also only assist families with so many boxes of diapers.   It's just a helping hand when someone needs it.
Diaper Love was able to be there for the tornado victims down in Cleveland.  Chances are good, if your house got destroyed, any diapers you had in the house are gone too.  They handed out thousands of diapers to those people.
If you can make a donation, any donation.  Even better, if you can make it a monthly donation, you will help these families in need.

Jennifer
