The budget includes $77.4 million for a 1.5 percent pay raise for
state employees, $22.2 million to reduce the sales tax on food by 0.25
percent, and $18.7 million to continue the elimination of the state's
inheritance tax.
Davidson County Chancellor Carol McCoy on Wednesday ordered the
Tennessee Department of Children's Services to provide the Tennessean
and other media outlets with redacted case files of the 50 most recent
cases involving 2012 fatalities or near-fatalities of children under
their watch.
The tour, which showcases the season's top finalists, will hit

Dustin (Dusty) Lester, 18, of Greenback, was last seen at his
