Gov. Bill Haslam has signed a bill that allows school districts to let people with police training be armed in schools.
The measure passed the House 82-15 and was approved 27-6 in the Senate.
Sen. Lamar Alexander says President Barack Obama's plan to consider
selling the Tennessee Valley Authority has already cost hundreds of
millions of dollars -- even if the nation's largest public utility is
never sold.
Emergency maintenance will be performed this weekend on the James K.
Polk Building in downtown Nashville, which houses the Tennessee
Department of Transportation's (TDOT) headquarters offices. This
maintenance will cause outages to many TDOT web-based services.
Events moved quickly Thursday morning as the state rested, George Thomas verified he would not testify, and shortly afterwards the defense rested without calling a single witness.
