According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Kenneth David Painter was wanted on sex offender registry
violation charges in Cleveland, Ohio and Houston, Texas.
Knox County Commissioner Jeff Ownby was ordered to write a public
and descriptive letter of apology for performing oral sex at Sharp's Ridge Park. The letter is part of a deal to receive a sentence of judicial diversion after Ownby pleaded no contest to charges of public indecency.
Police say the girl told officers Tuesday that she had been waiting for a
ride after a school function when a red Honda car pulled up and a
Hispanic man approached her, covered her mouth and forced her into the
back seat.
No charges will be filed after an altercation between the sister of a
murdered Cocke County teen and the father of the man serving time for
killing her
