Lawmakers hope a new grant will give an extra boost to small businesses
in South Knoxville struggling to stay open as construction on the Henley
Street Bridge continues.
Alden Hill rushed for 101 yards on 18 carries Saturday as defense
dominated an Orange & White Game that featured a crowd of 61,076,
the second-largest total ever for a Tennessee spring game.
About 125 employees of the state Department of Labor and Workforce
Development have been told their jobs are being eliminated and career
job services will no longer be provided at 34 locations across the
state.
