Walter "Joe" Marm, Jr. won the Medal of Honor for his actions "above the call" in Vietnam. The retired Army Colonel single-handedly attacked the enemy and used himself as a target for machine gun fire before he was severely wounded.
TVA has scheduled highway lane closures this weekend, April 19-22, for
geotechnical work at Fort Loudoun Dam near Lenoir City and the Kingston
Dike in downtown Kingston, weather permitting.

The old Morristown College was sold in three parcels at a tax sale. The
former owner, Kenny Lane of Knoxville, owed thousands of dollars in back
taxes to Hamblen County.
The budget includes $77.4 million for a 1.5 percent pay raise for
state employees, $22.2 million to reduce the sales tax on food by 0.25
percent, and $18.7 million to continue the elimination of the state's
inheritance tax.
