Davidson County Chancellor Carol McCoy on Wednesday ordered the
Tennessee Department of Children's Services to provide the Tennessean
and other media outlets with redacted case files of the 50 most recent
cases involving 2012 fatalities or near-fatalities of children under
their watch.
The tour, which showcases the season's top finalists, will hit
Thompson-Boling Arena on August 6. Tickets go on sale May 3 at www.AmericanIdol.com/tour and www.aeglive.com.
Dustin (Dusty) Lester, 18, of Greenback, was last seen at his
grandmother's house about 3:30 on Sunday afternoon, April 14. He had
attended his school's prom the night before and then camped at the lake
with friends.
Nicole Gross, a 31-year-old fitness instructor from Charlotte, N.C. and her sister, 29-year-old Erika Brannock , a preschool teacher in Towson, Md., were at the marathon to watch their mother run.
Harper was charged
in May 2012, after investigators say Harper hit and killed Nelzon Soto,
Sr. and Chastity Thornell, along with Thornell's unborn baby girl.
They were assisting Thornell's friend who had run out of gas on the side
of Washington Pike in the early morning hours.
As the investigation of Pilot continues, local non-profit groups watch from afar as to how it will affect an organization that has given millions of dollars to East Tennessee charities.
