With more than 150,000 homeless veterans nationwide, many of their
deaths may go unnoticed and without the proper burial. But now, one
Knoxville veteran won't be forgotten.
All day Thursday and Friday, Star 102.1 will be live at West Town Mall
with their annual radiothon. For the past 12 years, the crew has
broadcast from the mall in hopes of raising thousands of dollars.
Campbell County Mayor William Baird says the Campbell County animal shelter is closed indefinitely pending the outcome of a state investigation into accusations of animal abuse by shelter director Betty Crumley.

changes could either include closing the shelter or keeping it open with
an interim director.
