The wife of a Wilson County Sheriff's Office deputy was shot to
death Saturday at their Lebanon home by a 4-year-old who gained access
to a gun at a family cookout, police said.
A pinwheel garden will be on display on the main floor of the City
County Building in Downtown Knoxville. The pinwheels represent the
children born in Tennessee every year.
Knoxville is a participating city for Let's Move Cities, Towns, and
Counties, or LMCTC. It's a major piece of First Lady Michelle Obama's
Let's Move! campaign, which works to fight childhood obesity.
Allegiant Air 883 was bound for St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport in
Florida. According to airport officials, the pilot declared an Alert 2
emergency around 3:22 pm.
Beginning at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, the US 25W (SR 9)
Bridge over the Clinch River in Clinton will be reduced to one lane in
each direction as crews begin bridge repairs.
Hill Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Walnut Street and
Gay Street from at least Monday, April 15th, to Friday, April 26th. The
closure will accommodate a large construction crane.
