An effort to require whistleblowers to quickly submit damning evidence
of animal abuse to law enforcement has hit a snag in the state Senate
over questions about the true intentions of the bill.
Nearly 400 competitors ventured out to Johnson University this weekend
to support their favorite non-profit organizations for the "Heels and
Wheels Dualathon" on Saturday.
Hill Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Walnut Street and
Gay Street from at least Monday, April 15th, to Friday, April 26th. The
closure will accommodate a large construction crane.
DCS has been under heightened scrutiny over how it handled abuse and
neglect investigations of more than 200 children who later died or were
seriously injured.
Tennessee's unemployment insurance program has cut its backlog of
claims awaiting decisions by more than half since reaching a high of
about 28,000 claims in September, the Department of Labor and Workforce
Development said last week.
