According to the Hawkins County Sheriff's Department, on February 4, two
emails were sent to WBIR and two tv stations in the Tri-Cities, reading
"Hawkins County Schools will be CLOSED Tuesday, February 5, 2013."
Terry Murray asks, "True or false? It is often said that with the
Cumberland Plateau on the left and the Smokies on the right, that the
Knoxville area is one of the hardest areas to predict the weather
forecast. If true... why?"
The event, called "The Synthetic Scare" was hosted by the Metropolitan
Drug Commission, the Knox County District Attorney's Office, Rural/Metro
and the Knox County Parent-Teacher Association.
