About 125 employees of the state Department of Labor and Workforce
Development have been told their jobs are being eliminated and career
job services will no longer be provided at 34 locations across the
state.
On WBIR's Facebook page, there's been a mostly negative response to the news of the past 24 hours. Some people say they do not want to buy gas from Pilot anymore.
After hours of silence, members of the Knoxville-area Gay Straight
Alliance spoke up. They took part in the National Day of Silence, a day
to focus on the bullying of some lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender
people face.
