Books for Jacob will tear at your heartstrings and it's a wonderful book for your children.  Not only will you love it, it helps a great cause when you purchase the book!

Books for Jacob is written for children by Loudon Elementary School teacher Wesley Spurling.  The book is about his student, Jacob Auchey's battle against cancer.  The elementary-age-level book is based on the 7-year-old Jacob's stay in Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville for treatment for a brain tumor and the stories that were read to him by Loudon teachers via a tape recorder.

Jacob loved to read and the tumor hurt his ability to read for himself.    This story is amazing!

The book was illustrated by Knoxville artist Gale Hinton and University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt has written the forward.

Proceeds from the book will go to a fund for Jacob which is set up through Foothills Federal Credit Union in Loudon.
